Travel Packing List: Material Girl Edition

I’m travelling to multiple countries over the next 6+ weeks which means I’m packing a lot of shit. So I thought I would share my packing list with you in case you want to have a peek so you don’t forget anything on your next trip!

I would consider myself an expert level packer by now.

No, I am not by any means a minimalist like some of these backpacker folks.

I am a chronic over packer. I like to be prepared for anything. I like to have options. I like some comfort. Some may consider me a material gurl.

I would consider myself somewhere in the middle of homeless with one pair of underwear and a dream and has 4 Louis Vuitton suitcases and flys private with her purse dog

I hope that paints a good enough picture.

Anyway… Onto what you came here for… The packing list.

This is all of what I have with me on this trip. I’m pretty confident I got everything but I’ll let ya know if I think of anything else.

Carry on:

Sleep mask

Earplugs

Travel adapter

Kindle

Ipad

Chargers (phone, speaker, kindle, iPad, portable battery)

Toothbrush

Toothpaste

Skincare, face mist- most of my skincare fits in my carry on in travel sizes

Mini deodorant- also great to carry around for chafing, learned that the hard way

Travel perfumes

Butt Wipes

Toilet spray (Iykyk)

Birth control

Sunglasses

Hair brush- Only brought a small brush as I have thin hair and don’t need a full size. Trying to save on space as much as possible.

Portable charger

Amazon Phone light

Speaker

Backup Debit card and credit card

Some underwear/change of clothes/one bikini- little care package of clothes IN CASE your luggage gets lost, which it won’t because things like that don’t happen to us :) but still nice to have, especially just shorts/flip flops if you’re wearing warmer clothes on the plane and then you can change right when you land

Back up AirTag – make sure this is already connected to your phone.

Like 6 different lip products :)

Wear:

I lay out my plane outfit the night before I leave! It can get both really hot and really cold on the plane so I think ahead and prepare for both. I also make sure I have my travel blanket strapped onto my backpack.

Hat

Runners

Leggings

Tank

Sweater

Socks/underwear

Fanny Pack:

Passport

ID and cards – I put my debit card and a credit card in this bag, and then I have a backup debit card and credit card in my backpack, keep them separate!

Cash

Lip balm – probably like 3 different ones is good right? Plus the 6 in the other bag. Makes sense to me.

Headphones

Pen – great to have for filling out customs forms etc

Keys

Toiletries:

Shower: All my shower stuff goes in one plastic travel pouch so it’s easy to take the whole thing to hostel showers, mine has a hook on it so I can hang it up while showering.

Shampoo and conditioner

Soap

Razors

Coconut oil (I use for shaving)

Body Scrub

Face scrub

Face Cleanser

Other:

Tweezers

Skincare

Sunscreen

Lotion

Bikinis

Cover ups

Sports bras

Underwear, socks

Tops (tank, short, long sleeve)

Jeans, pants

Don’t ask me how many of each thing I brought because the answer is TOO MUCH.

Shoes:

Runners

Converse

Slides

Strappy sandals

Chunky sandals

Flip flops (for hostel showers)

Yes this is a lot of shit. Edit as needed.

My strategy for packing goes as follows…

  1. Sort out toiletries, condense into smaller bottles. This took me forever this time. And my toiletries make up like 4–5 toiletry bags. It’s a lot, It’s heavy. Whatever. It all fit because I’m a packing wizard.
  2. Throw clothing into a corner and edit down what I think I’ll actually wear. This was hard cause I’m going to so many different places and had to think about all of that but we did it!
  3. Pack clothing into packing cubes.
  4. Add in misc things to suitcase (tripod, bags etc)
  5. Pack shoes, double check suitcase list, everything is checked off
  6. Pack carry on and fanny pack

Don’t forget to get distracted about 13 times along the way and check your list 3 times before leaving the house! Wahoo!

You’re all ready to go! Safe travels, may you have the adventure of a lifetime. I know I sure will.
